A sanctuary is more than a building. It is what we build around one another.

Taste of Olam Haba is establishing the Immigrant Defense Fund in partnership with Migra Watch and Intransitive. The fund will provide a more stable source of support for the direct work our partners are already doing to defend immigrant and trans migrant communities throughout Arkansas.

What your donation supports

Gifts to the Immigrant Defense Fund will strengthen the direct work of Migra Watch and Intransitive, including:

  • Rapid-response and community defense infrastructure

  • Organizing capacity and frontline coordination

  • Information, education, and community resources

  • Material support for immigrant and directly impacted communities

  • The long-term sustainability of organizers doing urgent, labor-intensive work

Our Role

Our role is to flank our immigrant and directly impacted partners: adding organizing capacity, moving resources, and demonstrating what meaningful ally intervention can accomplish: both materially and narratively. We seek to follow the leadership of those closest to the immigration system. In addition to fundraising, we will continue to take political action to throw sand in the gears of the detention and deportation machine wherever we encounter it.

Our Vision

Our Jewish memory calls us to recognize the danger of dehumanization, family separation, detention, disappearance, and forced exile. It calls us to stand with immigrants and refugees who are being criminalized, torn from loved ones, and denied safety and dignity.

Authoritarian systems depend on convincing us that some people, because of where they were born, the color of their skin, their gender, their poverty, or their immigration status, are less deserving of freedom and protection. We reject that lie.

We are partnered with Never Again Action, which guides our Jewish solidarity with the immigrant justice movement. As NAA reminds us, struggles for immigrant justice, Jewish liberation, gender justice, racial justice, disability justice, and economic justice cannot be separated from one another. Each is part of the broader struggle against racial capitalism, fascist authoritarianism, and the systems that decide whose lives are protected and whose are treated as disposable. As Jews, our histories and ancestors propel us toward justice.

May our ancestors’ memories become a blessing through our actions.

Every contribution helps create a stronger, more dependable foundation for immigrant defense in Arkansas.

The shofar has sounded.

Our neighbors are calling.

Let us answer together.
